The living is a big city Legien settlement in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg (Pankow), which was built in the years 1928 to 1930, designed by Bruno Taut and Franz Hillinger union-cooperative. It was named after the German trade union leader Carl Legien. It lies at the Erich-Weinert-Straße between Gubitz and Sültstraße.
