Travel to Saudi Arabia

  • Flag
For many Forbidden Kingdom and emblem of some of the most inexplicable of the Middle East to the West, and Islam, the veil and terrorism. For centuries the country was closed to foreigners, and was only accessible to the most courageous and daring, as Richard Burton, T. E. Lawrence and Wilfred Thesiger. Today, Saudi Arabia is not as unfriendly to foreigners, and also reserves a pleasant surprise: Madain Saleh, the sister city of Petra Jordan is among the most magical and monumental sites of the Middle East. The Rub al-Khali (Empty or Place), one of the largest stretches of sand in the world, is home to sand dunes the size of a boat. At the southern end is Najran, an ancient caravan stop where the strengths of adobe emerge between the oasis. On the coast, Jeddah, a city considered by the most conservative libertine, lively souks and charming home coral houses. Southwest off the coast are the treasures of the Saudi Red Sea, coral reefs are among the best preserved and most spectacular in the world. However, for many the most memorable is the traditional Bedouin hospitality, which, like the sands of the empty place, remains unchanged.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Saudi Arabia (in Arabic, المملكة العربية السعودية, al-Mamlaka al-Arabiyya as-suūdiyya, 'United Arab Arabia') is an Islamic country on the Arabian peninsula. It borders Iraq and Jordan on the north and northeast, Kuwait, Tasting and the United Arab Emirates on the east, with Oman on the southeast, and Yemen on the south. It is also connected with Baréin through the King Fahd Causeway. I bathe the Red Sea to the west, and the Persian Gulf to the northeast. Saudi Arabia has about 2,149,690 km2, and had a population of more than 28 million people in 2008. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was founded by Abdelaziz bin Saud in 1932, although the gains that initiated the creation of the modern state began in 1902 with the capture of Riyadh. The Saudi government has been an absolute monarchy since its inception, based on Islamic principles, although this is denied by the Salafists, a minority school of Islamic thought. The kingdom is also called "Land of the Two Holy Mosques" in reference to Masjid al-Haram in Mecca and Masjid al-Nabawi in Medina, the two holiest sites of Islam. Saudi Arabia has the second largest oil reserves in the world (the first is Venezuela) and is also the second largest exporter (the first is Russia). Oil accounts generate more than 90% of exports and nearly 75% of government revenues 2012, which is facilitating the creation of the state of bienestar.2 But human rights groups like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have denounced the lack of protection of human rights in the country.
