The Museum Berggruen (also known as Berggruen Collection) is in the Berlin district of Charlottenburg, one of the world's finest collections of classic modern art, which the collector and art dealer Heinz Berggruen in a "gesture of reconciliation" of his native Berlin at a price far below market value sold. Especially works by Pablo Picasso, Alberto Giacometti, Georges Braque, Paul Klee and Henri Matisse are here under one roof. The Berggruen collection belongs to the Berlin National Gallery. The museum has 29 August 2011 closed for renovation and will reopen in summer 2012. [1] The collection came in 1996 with the return of the donor after six decades of exile in his native city after Berlin.
