Cebu (Sugbo in Cebuano) is a Philippine city located on the east coast of the island of Cebu in Central Visayas region. It is the capital of the province of Cebu. Its population is 2,314,897 inhabitants and 814,296 inhabitants in the agglomeration (estimate 2007). Cebu is, after Manila, economic and commercial center of the Philippines most important. It has numerous business parks, business district, universities, colleges, hospitals and other services. Moreover, in the vicinity is the island of Mactan, which hosts a large tourism. Cebu is connected with the rest of the Visayas archipelago of which is capital and the rest of the country and several international destinations through its airport and seaport.
